Sector HACCP and how it could change food safety.
Following enactment of the Food Safety Modernization Act, a Food Safety Plan or HACCP is required for all firms in the processing sector of the food industry. The commitment to producing or trading in safe food starts in the agriculture production sector with good agriculture practices. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point, (HACCP) can be incorporated into any piece of the food production to help ensure the safety of raw and processed foods in global trade.
USAID Projects in Africa, Middle East, and Central America.
For the past ten years I’ve had the privilege of working from farm to table on thirty-five projects with various international organization in Latin America, the Middle East, the Near East, and in 13 African countries. I have learned more from them than anything I’ve read in textbooks about cultures, farming, food and life. I now know where much of that food comes from on the USA grocery shelves and what it took to get it there. Let’s explore what USAID projects are doing.
